Questions & Answers

What are the basics of how Double Diamond Baseball (DDB) is played?
wpe333.gif (8873 bytes)

Double Diamond Baseball (previously called Xtreme Baseball) is played on two interlocking baseball diamonds. The 1st batter in the lineup utilizes the traditional baseball diamond and runs the traditional counter clockwise direction. After the 1st bat is completed  the next batter then runs the opposite directions utilizing the added double diamond layout. The batters alternate directions after each at bat. DDB creates intense multi directional base running situations which requires more concentration from the fielders. This version compliments traditional baseball very well at the same time increases the games excitement factor. This version will be utilized for the leagues 2010 season. See General Rules

Are there other methods/formats of Double Diamond Baseball?

Yes over the last three years the NXBL has made many variation utilizing the double diamond field layout. These version involve having both teams playing on the field at the same time in which pitchers alternate pitches  to the opposing batters after a full at bat.  The batters run the bases according to the diamond on which they are batting. This version is also very exciting to watch however the NXBL is no longer utilizing this version as its official league play.

Does playing Double Diamond Baseball improve  players general playing skills?
